Welcome to the Union Brae and Norham Practice website.
Our appointment system enables you to book a routine appointment in advance (up to six weeks) with your own doctor. We also have emergency appointments available each day for people who have an urgent problem. These appointments cannot be pre-booked.
You can expect to see a practice nurse within one day.
Appointments can be made by telephone or in person.
We try to make sure you get the treatment you need as soon as possible. Emergencies will be dealt with immediately and other urgent but less serious problems will always be seen on the same day, though you may need to see another doctor.
New Nurse Appointments on Wednesday Evenings
From April 2012 patients will be able to book to see a Practice Nurse as well as a GP between 6.20 – 8pm on a Wednesday. This is to improve choice for patients who can’t come in during the day. The GPs and Practice Nurses will be providing this service on a rota basis
Repeat Prescriptions
If you need medicine on a regular basis you can use the right hand side of your prescription to re-order your medicines. You can do this by coming to the surgery, by post, by fax or by email. We need 48 hours notice for all requests for repeat prescriptions. There is a prescription collection service in operation. Ask at the pharmacy of your choice for more information.
You may order your repeat medication by email. If you would like to start using this service you should click here to email your request (unionbraea84044©nhs•net) . Make sure you include the following information:
- Your name
- Your address
- Your date of birth
- Full details of which medicines you would like to order
** Please note we cannot guarantee full encryption of this service and we do not reply to these emails to confirm receipt**
The receptionists are not permitted to accept telephone requests for medicines.
Dispensing
If you live outside the town your Doctor may be able to dispense medicines which you need either in the surgery or on a home visit. The Receptionists will be able to tell you whether the Doctor can dispense for you.
If we are not able to dispense to you, you can choose where you want to pick up your medicine(s) from: Lloyds in Berwick or Tweedmouth, Boots, Romanes or Tesco. You can then collect a form from your chosen pharmacy and hand it into the surgery.
